„It is a great privilege to do the job you love and I’m more than grateful and happy I can do it. I love people who are dedicated to their work as much as I am, it’s not important if they are students or professionals. It is important to me that our energies recognize each other and that is what happened while working on this project. I enjoyed both preparing this film and working on it. It is really great pleasure to cooperate with young talented directors whom you can help with your experience and from whom you can learn at the same time. I always tried to enrich my professional work with something new and working with young people does just that for me. I’m glad that some space is opening for young authors and students who bring new energy and who can enrich both Bosnian and Herzegovinian and world cinema and I think it is very important “, said Jasna Ornela Beri about her experience of working on BONDS by Greek director Andronikos Konstantinos who studied at the Sarajevo Film Academy.
In the following three days, 13th, 14thand 15thof August, audience will have the chance to watch short films by students studying at BH academies and film schools at the screenings organized at 3 p.m. at Art Cinema Kriterion. Young actress Maja Izetbegović who played in two of those films was more than happy to share with us her experiences from the shootings:
„I am happy that two student films in which I played will be shown as part of the Student Program this year. That is the big incentive for young authors and great response to their work and effort. It always inspirational to be part of the crew of student projects. There is always lots of enthusiasm, innovation and dedication on those kinds of shootings. I really have to highlight my cooperation with young director Stijn Bouma, because I could witness the development of this excellent, smart and sensible director while I was working with him.“
Actors cooperate with their young colleagues a lot, especially the ones who already have experience of working with them while they were studying. Saša Krmpotić became one of the recognizable faces of the BH Student Competition Program in the previous years and it is easy to understand why from what he told us:
„Working on the student films is extremely important because, in my opinion, it is a great opportunity for new experiences that are very important for working on professional sets. Besides that, I think that it is very important that a whole generation of young people get to know each other in these sets. They get together and connect while working together. I always try to work in those kinds of projects, because I know what kind of experiences and knowledge you can get this way.“
Come, watch the BH Student Program and enjoy the works of young directors and actors who, no matter how experienced and well know they are, decide to work with the new generations.
